bath bombs is actually quite simple.
with pictures to explain it but still something better than just with words, so I got a few days ago some pictures shot during production. What with eingesaut hands was not soo easy:). Unfortunately the battery had decided to make time in between slack, so did the 2nd Half with the help of Mr completed good girl, who has established quite well the trigger (and also as an absolute newbie tinkered successfully bath bombs).
You need:
the basic ingredients (see here this recipe, so I've made a lot of pounds and it has been found but I have used for these batches a larger quantity.)
a water bath
1 (roast) Thermometer
1 scale
a fine balance (optional)
1 large bowl
2 large spoons
1 small bowl
1 bath bomb pliers / Meat Ball Maker (or as the small metal bowls from IKEA or acrylic balls from the hardware store)
thoroughly washed and clean hands and clean work area and items I suppose!
And here we go:
First weigh the Kabu and at moderate temperature to melt in water bath. My thermometer beeps when it gets too hot (in this case are set 50 ° C), then you can respond quickly and nothing is too warm. The number on the scale is the way the time, just in case anyone wonders, what a strange weight I weigh * g *.
While melts the cocoa butter, can you weigh the same Mulsifan and the scent in a small vessel. It was this vessel be large enough so that later also fits inside the required amount of Kabu.
Then the sodium bicarbonate (Sodium bicarbonate, baking soda, important not to use sodium hydroxide, NaOH!) Weigh out and rub the lumps. I do that with NEM spoon. Takes something and goes even to the amount in his arms;).
From soda to mix a small amount of paint removed. A pigment-rich few crumbs here, which are rubbed well with the soda. This time, I've also ground vanilla here, so the black dots.
I take at bath bombs always pigment basics of soap, but others have already successfully used food coloring. The procedure is different, but I would not dwell on here.
The sodium bicarbonate is then mixed well with the milk powder, the strength and the colored part dees sodium bicarbonate. Then comes the citric acid (right) and everything will be to again well mixed. It should now be no more lumps in it!
My favorite tools at bath bombs, the Meatball Maker. Now the melted and weighed Kabu with Mulsifan fragrance mixture is stirred. (And here, my battery has said goodbye So you continue on another charge;.))
This mixture comes to the powdered ingredients and then stirred very well to the crowd about how gross Streuselteig looks. .
Now the mass can be processed well with your hands. It is convenient when the crumbs well rubbed between the hands. I carry out hygienic reasons (latex) gloves, as I often give my bombs and I get the idea of bath bomb material that sticks on your mind, extremely unappetizing think.
The rubbing can be seen then good, if the mass is already sufficiently mixed. Apart inhomogeneous bodies (bright or dark spots), we must become even more. If everything is homogeneous, there is a little consistency as wet sand, which can compress it easy and not immediately auseinanderbröselt.
Then comes the forceps used. The mass take loose between the hemispheres and squeeze. It is important that everything is always good to loose, so in between every now and go back with the hands through size and break up the crumbs.
Then comes the interesting part that makes everyone else around. My approach in shaping is this: Press a small compressed mass bumps on the bottom hole and squeeze the ball a bit. Then allowed it is easy to lift out of the shell and stops at the top half of the pliers. If now what falls off, then you must again fill with new. The best and the clamp wipe the inside with some kitchen towel to drink no life remains.
the other half I proceed be it. So turn the pliers to lift out the hole and press. Then carefully turn the pliers and gently let the ball fall out. If something here rausbröselt or fall apart ... back to the filling;).
Et voila! The result is a wonderful bath bomb that now only about 2 hours at room temperature and then cured must already be packaged and given away:).
Enjoy your bath bomb making! :)
